How do we calculate trade value?

We use a value-based evaluation system that integrates insights from the expert community, real-time market trends, and the intrinsic attributes of the items.

An item's trade value depends on its rarity, difficulty of acquisition, appearance, and market demand. For pets, trade value is also influenced by their variants and abilities.

How do we calculate Pet trade value?

The trade value of a pet is primarily driven by its Trait Value (a composite of rarity, acquisition difficulty, and aesthetics). We also factor in specific attributes, such as Forms (Neon/Mega Neon) and Abilities (Rideable/Flyable), along with current Market Demand to arrive at the final valuation.

Trait Value (Multiplier)

Trait Value is the foundational component of a Pet's total worth. It is determined by the pet's inherent rarity, acquisition difficulty (such as egg drop rates or limited-time availability), and visual appeal. This serves as the "base price" within the trading economy. All other modifiers, including Forms (Neon/Mega Neon), Abilities (Rideable/Flyable), and current Market Demand, are applied to this value to determine the final trade valuation.

Form (Multiplier)

This factor reflects the significant increase in value when a pet is transformed into its Neon or Mega Neon versions. In the trading market, the value of these forms is far higher than the sum of their individual parts due to the immense time, effort, and additional pets required to "grow" them. We apply specific multipliers to these forms to accurately represent their true market worth.

For example, a Mega Neon pet is assigned a substantial multiplier because the requirement of 16 individual pets, combined with the extensive labor of aging each one to "Luminous," makes it far more prestigious and valuable than a standard version.

Abilities (Multiplier)

This factor accounts for the added utility and monetary investment of a pet’s specific functional skills, namely Flyable and Rideable abilities. Since these abilities are usually unlocked via premium potions, they grant a consistent value boost to the pet's base worth. Unlike multipliers, this is treated as an Ability Bonus because it represents a fixed investment of resources that remains valuable across different pet tiers.

For example, a Fly-Ride (FR) potion set adds a predictable premium to a pet’s value, as it combines the convenience of faster travel with the prestige of a fully-upgraded companion.

Market Demand (Multiplier)

Market Demand is a dynamic multiplier that reflects a pet's actual popularity and liquidity within the trading community.  Our team calculates this by continuously monitoring market data, balancing key factors like current supply and demand trends. This ensures all trade values remain up-to-date and fair.

How do we calculate Other Item trade value?

The value of items such as Eggs, Vehicles, and Toys is primarily determined by their Trait Value, which accounts for their original Robux cost and historical availability. This base value is then adjusted by real-time Market Demand to arrive at the final trade value. For rare collectibles, the demand often hinges on their prestige and utility in the current meta.
