Today, we present the definitive guide to the Carnival Elephant, covering its proper usage, optimal team compositions, and current market value.
Core Ability
The Carnival Elephant possesses a unique skill: when another pet finishes activating its ability, the Carnival Elephant has a 3% to 6% chance to trigger that same skill again. This mechanic is reminiscent of the Oxpecker and Moose, but with a crucial distinction - it applies to all pets, including the French Fry Ferret. However, a significant restriction exists: for the skill to activate, you cannot have two pets of the same type in your garden. For instance, having two Peacocks or two French Fry Ferrets will completely disable the effect. The sole exception is the Carnival Elephant itself; multiple Carnival Elephants are permitted.
This restriction has led many players to believe the pet was bugged, as they observed no triggers and subsequently sold it. The issue, however, lies not in the pet's quality but in its incorrect application.
Mechanics and Stacking
Multiple Carnival Elephants can be stacked, and their activation chances are cumulative. For example, with 7 Carnival Elephants, the total trigger chance becomes 21% to 42%—an exceptionally potent near 50% probability.

To achieve the maximum 6% chance per Elephant, it must be at maximum level and weigh over 100kg. With the Hyperhunger passive's 30% bonus, this threshold is reduced to approximately 70kg. Even at 39kg with Hyperhunger, the chance can exceed 5%, which remains quite useful. Two Carnival Elephants together already provide around a 10% chance for all pets to re-trigger their skills.
Regarding the Rainbow Carnival Elephant, its skill cap increases to 10%. The primary drawback is its exorbitant cost, currently exceeding 30,000 tokens, which is difficult to justify. Alternatives like the Rainbow Dilophosaurus offer far greater value for the price.
Optimal Team Composition
After extensive testing, we recommend the following setup for maximizing the Carnival Elephant's potential:
![]()
This composition is ideal for boosting a base pet's weight while maintaining a 12%–24% chance for skills to trigger again. In our tests, all Carnival Elephants were 61kg+ with the Nightmare mutation, providing approximately 5.4% activation chance each. With four stacked, the total reaches 21.6%.
One Carnival Elephant can be replaced with a Ruby Squid, but only one—using two Ruby Squids will entirely nullify the Carnival Elephant's skill. On average, this setup triggers skill duplication once every four cycles. The Peacock and Dilophosaurus can also trigger each other, further enhancing efficiency.
For rapid leveling, the Elephant can be substituted with a French Fry Ferret or Mimic Octopus. Prioritize pets with short skill durations to trigger the effect more frequently.
While using 5 Carnival Elephants theoretically offers a higher probability, the garden's 8-pet limit leaves insufficient slots for supporting pets, ultimately reducing overall efficiency. If your Carnival Elephants have low weight early on, temporarily adding an extra one can accelerate progress.
Overall, Carnival Elephant setups are highly flexible. The cardinal rule is to never use duplicate pet types. We advise against rigid builds; instead, adapt based on your available pets.
Market Value and Pricing
- Normal-weight Carnival Elephant: Very affordable at around 100 tokens (sometimes as low as 70), due to easy availability through Carnival Egg quests.
- 39kg Nightmare Carnival Elephant: The maximum upgrade for a normal Elephant, typically priced between 500–700 tokens.
- 61kg+ Nightmare Carnival Elephant: The maximum weight for Rainbow Elephant upgrades, currently selling for around 1,500 tokens, though prices may trend toward 1,000 over time.
- 70kg–80kg+ Carnival Elephant (from Carnival Eggs): Considered a Huge pet, capable of reaching the skill cap, valued between 3,000–5,000 tokens.
- Rainbow Carnival Elephant: Starts at 30,000 tokens, a price that is generally not recommended for the value provided.
Conclusion
The Carnival Elephant is a valuable pet, particularly for players with limited access to top-tier pets. However, with only a single Carnival Elephant, the trigger rate is too low to be impactful. Proper stacking and mindful team composition are key to unlocking its full potential.
