Grow a Garden Pet Value Ranking System Standards
This pet value tier list is determined through a holistic assessment of the pet values in Grow a Garden, adhering to the following core principles:
Market Value: Pets with an established market price are automatically placed at Tier 2 or higher. The combination of their specific price and skill strength determines their final ranking within Tier 0, 1, or 2.
Overall Trait Value: For non-market pets, their tier is based on the total value of their various traits. This value is calculated by the key skill indicators listed below.
Meta Pet Value Principle: Skills favored by the community and aligned with the most effective value-generating strategies (e.g., skills that increase plant size or mutation chance) are rated more highly. Conversely, skills with less strategic impact in the late game are rated lower.
The Jackpot Principle (High-Risk, High-Reward): Pets offering a small chance at a high-value "jackpot" outcome (e.g., refunding a rare item, applying a 100x mutation) are often valued more than pets with guaranteed but less impactful results.
Best-in-Slot (BiS) and Skill Rarity: Pets with unique skills or those that are definitively the best in their category receive a higher tier to reflect their dominance in that niche.
Limitations: A pet's value is substantially reduced by its Limitations. The scope of a skill is critical, following this hierarchy: Global > Multi-Target / AoE > Single-Target. Other restrictions, such as situational requirements or external dependencies, will also lower a pet's value.
Rarity Floor: A pet's official rarity (e.g., Mythic) acts as a "Rarity Floor," providing a baseline pet value in Grow a Garden. This serves as a safety net, preventing even pets with weak or useless skills from being placed in the absolute lowest tiers.
Grow a Garden Pet Tier List Standards (T0-T7)
T0 (Apex Tier): Reserved for pets with unique, meta-defining abilities and unparalleled strength. They are defined by a combination of the absolute best-in-slot skills and the highest market pet value.
T1 (Elite Tier): Pets with decisive, powerful abilities that serve as the cornerstone for top-tier strategies. This tier is home to pets with high market pet value or those with the most powerful growth mutations and elite synergies.
T2 (Excellent/Elite Tier): The benchmark tier for pets with a proven market value. It also includes non-market pets that are Best-in-Slot (BiS) for powerful and meta-relevant strategies, for example, those with unique, stackable, and high-impact skills.
T3 (Excellent Tier): Applies to other excellent non-market pets that enable powerful strategies. Pets in this tier can produce high-value mutations (e.g., 20x multipliers), provide elite team-wide synergies, or generate game-defining resources.
T4 (Strong Tier): Non-market pets with reliable, high-impact skills but are ultimately outclassed by the tiers above. Quantitatively, this tier often includes mutation-focused pets with an EVC (Expected Value Contribution) of 10.0 – 20.0 per hour.
T5 (Viable / Situational Tier): A broad category for pets that excel in specific situations. This includes inconsistent "jackpot" pets, pets whose powerful abilities come with major drawbacks, and mutation specialists with an EVC of 4.0 – 10.0 per hour.
T6 (Minor Impact Tier): Pets with noticeable but low-impact skills that are quickly surpassed by better options. This tier includes entry-level pets, those with a mutation EVC below 4.0 per hour, and serves as the "rarity floor" for high-rarity pets with otherwise useless skills.
T7 (Lowest Impact Tier): Applies to pets with functionally useless skills (e.g., a self-only buff) or no skills whatsoever. This kind of pet's Expected Value Contribution (EVC) is 0.
